Description
Kamloops, BC.
The sun finds a few breaks in the stormy clouds to highlight patches of the landscape. This picture was taken along Blackwell Road just before you get to Blackwell Dairy Farm. Four generations of the Blackwell family have operated the dairy since 1913. The foreground is part of their pastureland. You can also see a small part of the South Thompson River flowing through the clay benches which were once the bottom and shoreline of glacial Lake Thompson, 10,000 years ago.

We have such diverse landscapes in BC and I never tire of seeing scenes from this area. The contrast between the rich pastures and the arid sage is very striking. You picked a great time to capture this, with the patchy cloud casting shadows on the hillside. Very nice Theresa. F+V
Theresa Tahara replied:
Thanks, Randy. Since I grew up on the island, it took me a long time to get used to this area but I do appreciate it now. ;)
