Great Egrets are tall, long-legged wading birds with long, S-curved necks and long, dagger-like bills. Smaller than a Great Blue Heron; larger than a Snowy Egret.
Aigrette blanche volant
disparaît dans la brume matinale
le fantôme de la lune persiste.

Les grandes aigrettes sont de grands échassiers à longues pattes avec un long cou incurvé en S et de longs becs en forme de poignard. Plus petit qu'un grand héron bleu; plus grand qu'une Aigrette neigeuse.
