She arranged the purple blossoms in a vase and then, after all these years, still managed to fit into her blue gown. This had been her spring ritual ever since he had gone. As the heady scent of the blooms filled her room, memories from that long ago time came flooding back. She remembered the small bouquet of lilacs he had picked for her on the walk over and how his eyes lit up when he first saw her waiting on the porch. She remembered.......

Gorgeous image, Theresa! I absolutely love lilacs and miss their scent from my childhood. Some of my happiest memories when I was little were of picking lilacs for my mother. I wish they grew here in Texas, but alas... v/f!

Thank you, Nikki. Central BC is lilac heaven. Just about everyone has a lilac bush or even long hedges of them and if I go for an evening walk, the scent is incredible. Thank you, Nikki. ;-)
