Description
Wild Lupine (Lupinus arcticus aka Arctic Lupine) growing in open pastureland. A spring rain storm had just passed and another one was on its way.
Lupines are one of the more common wildflowers in British Columbia. This member of the pea family is a perennial which can reach a height of over 70 cm. They are also a favourite delicacy of BC's loveable marmots. These Lupines were mixed in with a field of Menzies Larkspur (Delphinium menisci).

I just love lupines... Great work.
Theresa Tahara replied:
I do too and I didn't realize they grew so close to where I live. I usually wait for the local ski hill to open for wildflower photos. Thank you, Donald. ;-)

Gorgeous image! Thought it was a painting at first. f/v
Theresa Tahara replied:
Thank you, David and Carol. This is almost straight out of the camera with no paint texture added. Appreciate the compliment. ;-))
